Employee of Maplewood business struck on scooter on Manchester

Lindsey Smith, an employee at The Book House, 7352 Manchester Road, was injured in an accident on July 29 as she drove her scooter on Manchester Road in Brentwood, according to a police report.

Smith was taken to the hospital and was sent home that night, but is still recovering.

She was wearing a helmet.

According to Brentwood Chief of Police Dan Fitzgerald the accident happened on westbound Manchester, just east of Collier Avenue, about 5:58 p.m.

“Vehicle changed lanes, did not see moped, and struck the moped,” Fitzgerald said in an email. “Moped operator was injured and taken to hospital. We do not know the extent of her injuries or her condition after that.” He called the accident typical.
