Sean Segasture has been an active member of the Boy Scout community since elementary school. He has ascended to the rank of Life Scout and is currently a candidate to become an Eagle Scout, according to a press release from RedBasket.org.

To attain the high rank of Eagle Scout, Segasture will build a raised garden at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.

The raised garden at the church will serve as the new pedestal for the existing statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. To build the garden, the existing statue will be removed, and the garden will be refilled.

Sean plans to build the garden bed using stone bricks, and wants to fill the garden with planted flowers and mulch. The garden will be approximately six feet by three feet and stand 12 inches tall. He will then clean, seal and restore the statue before placing it in the raised garden bed.

To complete his project, Sean hopes to raise $600 through RedBasket.org to purchase materials and supplies necessary to construct and landscape the garden bed. With the help of his troop, Sean intends to start working on his project in June and finish by July.

Sean’s fundraiser will be available for donations through July 4. To help Segasture complete his project and earn his Eagle Scout, please visit https://redbasket.org/1677/seans-eagle-scout-endeavor.

“Completion of this project will help to further beautify the grounds of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church,” Sean said.
