Brentwood candidates report finances

Three candidates in the Brentwood aldermanic elections on April 5 have spent enough to be required to form committees with the Missouri Ethics Commission.

David Dimmitt (Ward 1), Maureen Saunders, (Ward 1), Andy Leahy (Ward 3) and John ‘Rocky’ Ritter (Ward 3) all filed the required 8 Day Before reports — eight days before the April election — detailing contributions and expenditures. Dimmitt and Leahy also filed 40 Day Before reports.

David Dimmitt (Ward 1) filed a 40 Day Before Report online with the Missouri Ethics Commission. Below is from Dimmitt’s 40 Day Before Report. The only addition in his committee’s 8 Day Before Report is an expense of $273 for additional yard signs.

The other Brentwood aldermanic candidates; Evelyn ‘Sunny’ Sims (Ward 2), Patrick Toohey (Ward 4) and Kathy O’Neill (Ward 4) have not formed election committees.

  1. Notice how Leahy and Saunders supported local Brentwood businesses. Also note that Dimmitt and Ritter both received money form C. Lewis and supported out of state businesses.

    • So you’re telling me that Dimmitt and Ritter both know how to seek competitive bids in order to get the lowest price and maximize a dollar. While Leahy and Saunders both just recklessly gave money to local business in order to gain political favor, which is the City Hall was run prior to the audit. Thank you for pointing this out to the readers.
