Brentwood BOA agenda: Eagle Scouts, body armor for fire fighters

The Brentwood Board of Aldermen will address these items at the regular meeting of the board of aldermen on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Second reading only:

  • A bill requiring that city officials and employees to be “independent, impartial, and responsible to the people, ” that “government decisions and policy be made in the proper channels of the government structure” and “public office not be used for personal gain.”
  • A bill approving a site development plan and conditional use permit to Meche Salon for a hair salon at 8943 Manchester Road.

First and second readings:

  • A bill authorizing the city to continue applying and collecting the local sales tax on the titling of motor vehicles, trailers, boats and outboard motors purchased from a source other than a licensed Missouri dealer. This will be on the April 5 municipal election ballot if passed.
  • A bill authorizing the city to buy nine ballistic protective vests (body armor) for fire fighters at the lowest bid, of $8,073.
  • A bill authorizing parking by residents and their visitors only (by permit) at 8777, 8779, and 8783 Brentwood Place.

Resolutions:

  • A resolution designating a disabled parking space at 2408 Mari Kay Court, a residence.
  • St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church is preparing to undergo renovation for approximately six to eight months, and has inquired on the availability of the Bentwood Recreation Complex for Monday through Friday Noon Mass. The church has said it can’t afford the set rate for non-profits of $40 per meeting, and has requested a rate of $20 per meeting.

Also, Matt Segasture and James O’Halloran, of Boy Scout Troop 361, will be recognized for attaining Eagle Scout.
