Brentwood candidates’ financial reports: 40 days before election

In the Brentwood aldermanic races, three of the candidates in the April 5 races have spent enough to required them to form committees.

Candidates that receive at least $1,000 in contributions or at least $325 from a single contributor are required to form a candidate committee. If they form the committee before 40 days before the election (April 5) they’re required to file a financial report at 40 days.

In the Brentwood aldermanic races, so far only David Dimmitt (Ward 1) and Andy Leahy (Ward 3) filed 40 Day Before reports. John ‘Rocky’ Ritter (Ward 3) formed a committee but after the 40 Day Report was due.

A second report will be due eight days before the election for any candidates that qualify.

David Dimmitt (Ward 1) filed his 40 Day Before Report online with the Missouri Ethics Commission. Christine Lewis is the committee treasurer. Clint Lewis is the deputy treasurer.

  • Christine Lewis, $250
  • Richard Witzel, $500
  • David Dimmitt, $100

Spent:

  • Door hangers, Lady Printing, Seminole, FL,  $309
  • Yard signs, Big Daddy’s Signs, Laconia, NH, $464

Andy Leahy (Ward 3) filed his 40 Day Before Report at the St. Louis County Elections Board. Louise Charboneau is the committee treasurer.

Contributions received:

  • Leahy loaned $854 to his own committee

Spent:

  • Gene Del Printing, palm cards, $172
  • The Pulse Newspaper, ad, $115
  • The Brentwood Spirit, ad, $125

John ‘Rocky’ Ritter (Ward 3) filed a Statement of Committee Organization, but after the 40 Day Before Report deadline. As of March 11 he hasn’t reported any contributions or spending. Mary White is the treasurer.

The other candidates, Evelyn ‘Sunny’ Sims (Ward 2), and Patrick Toohey and Kathy O’Neill (both Ward 4) have not formed a committee.

  1. I am happy to see that Mr. Leahy used local businesses to spend his campaign money.

    I was dismayed to see that Mr. Dimmitt used out of state businesses to purchase his campaign materials.
