Brentwood football, MRH soccer wins; MRH volleyball over Brentwood

Brentwood senior Jacob Clay scored seven of Brentwood’s eight touchdowns Friday as the Eagles went on to their second lopsided win on the season. Brentwood defeated Kennedy at home 54-18 to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Clay finished the game with 294 yards rushing with Kayon Jenkins adding 81. Senior defensive end Brian Hutton had four sacks for the Eagles, totaling 10 tackles and four assists. Brentwood next plays at Sumner (1-1) on Sept. 3 (Thursday) at 7 p.m.

Brentwood soccer is 2-0 on the season with two shut-out wins, against Metro (6-0) and O’Fallon Christian (5-0). Their next game is at Hazelwood East on Tuesday.

MRH soccer started its season with a 4-2 win over Tower Grove Christian on Friday.

Brentwood volleyball opened at MRH, losing to the Blue Devils in two sets (20-25, 24-26) on Aug. 24. MRH went on to play a tournament at Hancock with wins over Jennings, Metro and Hancock, and two loses to Crossroads.

MRH volleyball next plays John Burroughs at MRH on Wednesday. Brentwood plays Gateway Science Academy on Tuesday, also at home.
