KMOX radio host Charlie Brennan asked his listeners to send him their shopping receipts, this month, to compare various city’s sales tax. He did this thinking about the upcoming vote (Nov. 6) in St. Louis County on a 1/8 cent per dollar increase in the sales tax to benefit the St. Louis Z00 — Prop Z.
Among others, he received receipts from purchases in Brentwood, Maplewood and Richmond Heights.

- Office Depot—Richmond Heights, MO – 9.11%
- Macy’s—Richmond Heights – 9.113%
- Home Depot—Brentwood – 9.658%
- Total Wine—Brentwood – 10.11%
Brennan said it’s important to examine the current sales tax and compare it to other parts of the region and United States.

Prop Z would be 12 cents on 100.00$.
