Brentwood Mayor Chris Thornton on Tuesday sent an email to the aldermen on May 3 encouraging them to pass an ordinance requiring city elected officials to disclose real property and business interest in Brentwood. The memo is a follow-up to a similar email he sent in December.
Thornton sent this to the aldermen on Tuesday: “Some months ago I sent you an Email encouraging you to pass an ordinance that would require elected officials (the Mayor and Aldermen) to disclose real property interest located in the City and business interest located in the City or doing business with the City. I am sending the attached memorandum to further explain my reasoning and encourage you to take this action. I firmly believe it would benefit the citizens and improve the function of our government.”
