The Brentwood and MRH solar arrays will look like this one when installed.

Brentwood and Maplewood Richmond Heights schools will be installing solar arrays on the roofs in the spring. The solar energy program will also be educational, as it supplies power, according to a press release.

The educational program is provided free of charge to schools who installed solar electricity with Brightergy. The program is statewide.

The BrighterSchools™ program, which correlates to Common Core Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards, is designed for students in grades K-12 and includes project-oriented and real-time lessons that build upon one another and are specific to individual schools and the software they are using to monitor their solar array.

The arrays will produce about 33,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. This will save the schools about $3,000 in electricity in the first year.

  1. I do hope that the price of solar panels here in the Philippines will become affordable so that our school can even purchase one because we experienced daily balckout due to power shortages and there are a lot of works need to be accomplished.

Before I was doubtful whether those solar panels are useful, but now that i know how it works, I convinced that Philippine government should pass a law regarding a low-cost purchase of solar panels.
