Approximately eight Brentwood residents opposed to the city switching dispatching services from city dispatchers to the shared East Central Dispatch Center assembled at Broughton Park Saturday before dispersing to collect signatures on a petition. An online petition has garnered more than 125 signatures.

The Brentwood Board of Aldermen first discussed the possibility in a closed meeting on Jan. 6. It was on the agenda for a second closed meeting and discussed in an open meeting on Jan. 3.

The mayor announced in that meeting that the board would vote to decide the issue at the next meeting. The board has a special, closed meeting on Monday, Feb. 24. The next regular BOA meeting is scheduled for March 3.
