The Brentwood Board of Aldermen have a special meeting scheduled for Monday, Feb. 24 that begins with votes on a bill in open session, to be followed by a closed session.

The meeting is scheduled to be at the Brentwood Community Center, room 103, beginning at 6:30 p.m. See the full agenda.

Three items are on the closed session agenda, citing three different reasons from state law for a board of aldermen to have a closed meeting.

  • Legal actions, causes of action or litigation involving a public governmental body and any confidential or privileged communications between a public governmental body or its representatives and its attorneys.
  • Hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting of particular employees by a public governmental body when personal information about the employee is discussed or recorded.
  • Sealed bids and related documents, until the bids are opened; and sealed proposals and related documents or any documents related to a negotiated contract until a contract is executed, or all proposals are rejected.

The last two times the aldermen met in closed meetings, Jan. 6 and Jan. 14, they discussed the possibility of outsourcing the city’s emergency dispatching to the East Central Dispatch Center, though no vote was taken.
