6 thefts and a forgery reported at Maplewood Commons

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Feb. 13

  • A 61-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a business located in the 7300 block of Manchester.
  • A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of stealing approximately $150 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Friday, Feb. 14

  • A 26-year-old man was arrested for a suspected drug violation resulting from a traffic stop conducted in the 3300 block of Greenwood Boulevard.
  • Police are investigating a delayed theft at a Maplewood Commons business. A man is suspected of stealing approximately $100 in merchandise and fleeing the business. The incident was reported on Feb. 14 but occurred on Feb. 13. Police have since identified the suspect and are attempting to locate him.
  • A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting approximately $242 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Saturday, Feb. 15

  • A 56-year-old man was arrested on forgery charges after attempting to cash another person’s checks at a Maplewood Commons business. Warrants were issued through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on four counts of forgery.  The suspect is currently being held on a $20,000 bond.

Sunday, Feb. 16

  • Police are investigating an assault that occurred in the 7300 block of Manchester Road. A man claimed he was assaulted by an unknown man after words were exchanged between the two parties. The suspect fled the area before police arrived.
  • Police responded to the 7400 block of Canterbury Avenue for a reported domestic disturbance.  An investigation revealed an argument between a man and woman. The male suspect was arrested on active warrants through other jurisdictions. No charges were issued in reference to the disturbance.
