On June 8, two 19-year-old suspects robbed a man at gunpoint in Brentwood Forest on at 12:20 a.m., taking his car.

Chief of Police Dan Fitzgerald said Pouk and Clayton fingerprinted the car when it was recovered the next day, which “takes some time, and you have to be very meticulous about it.”

Pouk and Clayton were able to obtain several different prints and sent them to St. Louis County to be processed. Two of the prints matched possible suspects, and on June 12, they were arrested, and gave full confessions to the Brentwood Forest robbery and two others.

“We would never have found out anything about this except for those prints, and that’s good old fashion police work,” Fitzgerald said. “What Dave and Paul did that day was take a little extra time and use a little extra effort and helped get two really serious criminals off the street.”
