Brentwood Chief of Police Dan Fitzgerald reminded residents on the department blog to lock their cars if they need to warm them in the morning now that it’s getting cooler.

Fitzgerald posted Friday morning that at approximately 6:30 a.m. a resident called the department to report a “suspicious” vehicle in their neighborhood, near Sonora Avenue and Kempton Lane.

Brentwood officers stopped the car and discovered it was occupied by three men. One of them was suspected of stealing a car that was warming on a driveway in Brentwood last year.

Richmond Heights police also warn about leaving cars running unattended on the department website. And on Twitter, reminded residents to remove valuables and lock the doors.
