Someone has taken matters into his/her own hands, following recent break-ins in Brentwood.

This photo was messaged to 40 South News with the caption: “New sign on the corner of Henrietta and Helen. The neighborhood has experienced recent car break in.”

Another identical sign was seen on Dorothy Avenue.

Brentwood Chief of Police Dan Fitzgerald Sept. 3 posted on the department blog that multiple cars had been broken into over the weekend.

When asked for comment on the signs, Fitzgerald said in an email that they’re probably a result of those break-ins.

  1. Hopefully the signs and resulting publicity will alert residents to take precautions to lock their homes and cars. And hopefully a few [youthful?] thieves won’t give Brentwood a negative image to others driving through.
    Any info on the current apprehension statistics?
