Burger Champ is opening in Maplewood (2704 Sutton Boulevard) on Friday, November 3. Riverfront Times and Sauce Magazine have both taken a look and talked with owner, Chris Kelling. He told the RFT he’s put a lot into the menu’s smash burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, sides and desserts.
Kelling told Sauce Magazine, “Our goal isn’t to be the best, just your favorite.” He said his white tablecloth days are over. Elmwood, which preceded Burger Champ in the same location, was a fine dining experience. It fell victim to the pandemic.
