On July 16 a Maplewood man was struck and killed by a large truck as he tried crossing Big Bend Boulevard. A gofundme crowd-sourcing campaign has been reportedly set up to help the family.

This is the description on the campaign. See the campaign page here.

July 16, 2018 at the age of 62, the late Mr. Albert Johnson was suddenly tooken away from his loved ones. Around 2:00pm that Monday evening he was struck and killed by a box truck in Maplewood Mo. Even with mental health challenges and physical issues Mr. Johnson still strived for self independence in his everyday life routines. He left behind a Daughter, two granddaughters & a great grandson. No one ever anticipates the loss of a loved one. Albert will truely be missed.

The purpose of this campaign is to help the family of Mr. Albert Johnson give him a simple & proper burial. Left over donations will be given to “Mental Heath America Of Eastern Missouri”.
