Hyundai stolen, recovered; Honda falsely reported stolen, Maplewood police say

Monday, Feb. 10

  • A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Two 24-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of stealing approximately $363 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Tuesday, Feb. 11

  • A 34-year-old male and a 33-year-old male were arrested on suspicion of stealing merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Wednesday, Feb. 12

  • A 2011 Hyundai was reported stolen in the 3700 block of Greenwood Boulevard while it was left running to warm up. It was discovered missing approximately ten minutes later. The vehicle was recovered on Feb. 16 just outside the city limits of Maplewood.
  • A leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident was reported in the 2600 block of Lyle. The vehicle was parked and was struck by an unknown vehicle.
  • A 19-year-old man was charged with drug paraphernalia stemming from a traffic stop conducted near W. Bruno and Westfield Court.
  • A 31-year-old man was arrested in the 3300 block of Cambridge Avenue for allegedly assaulting another family member.
  • A 30-year-old man was arrested on 2-12-14 for filing a false police report in reference to a stolen vehicle he had reported a week prior.  Last week’s blotter:  A 2005 Honda was reported stolen from the 3000 block of Sutton Boulevard on Feb. 4 between 3:45 p.m. and 10:55 p.m. The vehicle was recovered in a parking lot in University City early the following morning, on Feb. 5.  Police are investigating the incident.
