The chamber of commerce that serves the businesses of Maplewood and Richmond Heights has a new name, as of Monday.
The Richmond Heights chamber joined with Maplewood’s in January. The combined membership voted to approve a name change from ‘Maplewood Chamber of Commerce’ to ‘Mid-County Chamber of Commerce,’ with the tagline, ‘Serving the Communities of Maplewood and Richmond Heights.’
The change required a two-thirds approval. According to the chamber, 85 percent of the members voted. Of those, 129 approved the change, 32 voted no and three abstained.
Christy Byrd is the president of the chamber board of directors and Jeannine Beck is the executive director.
