Sharon Hall said she’s been a part of Focal Point (2720 Sutton Boulevard), singing harmony and playing guitar, almost since its beginning so when it turned 40 she wanted to celebrate that.
Hall assembled some of her musician friends—many from the Focal Point Thursday night acoustic jam session—and put on a show Saturday night to benefit Focal Point, Operation Food Search and Covenant House of Missouri. The proceeds were shared equally among the three groups.
She said she wanted to be part of the Focal Point’s “new forty.” Various combinations of musicians performed Ripple (Grateful Dead), Angel From Montgomery, Stand by Me, All My Life’s a Circle, Sweet Baby James and more, including many originals.
Hall’s performing friends on stage were: Wes Geissal, Dan Hellinger Chris Pin, Bill Witt, Tim Lilly, John Lucero, Tafra Perryman, Debbie Dyle, Greg MacNair, Craig Swann, R. Scott Bryan, Toni Schmidt, Paula Geiss, Rob Warbin and Billie Strauser.
The more I hear, the sadder I am that I was on retreat & missed this. What a classy lady! Her music has graced our shows at Stone Spiral– always way “above & beyond” expectations! I understand she was celebrating her own birthday as well–one of those ’round #s–But truly can’t see how that could be–the #’s just don’t come out right! Anyway, kudos for quite an event. Bravo! Encore! (She shapes some stylish hair, too!) “You go, girl!”
