Dog bite, packaged meat theft: police

  • Monday, July 20
  • Police began an investigation regarding an alleged dog bite. Dog bites are taken very seriously by the police. If you have been attacked by a dog you could get compensation for your injury. Why not check out someone like the Nehora law firm to give you more information on what you could be due if you have been subjected to a dog attack.  For this attack the victim stated that he was jogging in the 7700 block of Folk Avenue when a vicious dog emerged from a nearby residence and bit his left forearm. The owner of the dog was later contacted by police and was informed of the incident. Contact was also made with the St. Louis County Animal Control who was able to verify that the dog in question was current on all necessary vaccinations. The St. Louis County Animal Control later removed the dog from his owner’s custody for a ten-day quarantine evaluation period.   • Police were dispatched to a business in the 7700 block of Manchester Road for a larceny report.  Upon arrival contact was made with the store manager who advised that an unknown adult male subject had stolen approximately $75 in packaged meat. The suspect is described as a white male, 30-40 years old, multiple visible tattoos, wearing a yellow t-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes. This investigation is still ongoing.

Wednesday, July 22

  • Police began an investigation for a missing Missouri license plate. The victim said that she believed that her license plate went missing approximately 2-3 weeks prior. The license plate has been entered into the law enforcement database as missing/stolen. This investigation is still ongoing.

Thursday, July 23

  • Police observed a vehicle traveling westbound in the 7100 Manchester Road failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. Upon conducting a traffic stop, police observed a strong odor of an alcohol coming from the driver’s person along with several other signs of intoxication. The driver was later arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated and was issued several additional traffic related citations.

Friday, July 24

  • Police were dispatched to a Maplewood Commons business for a larceny report. Upon conducting a brief investigation, police were able to locate an adult female suspect who had approximately $220 in stolen alcohol in her possession. It was later determined that the suspect in question had previously be banned from the store stemming from a recent stealing arrest. The suspect was arrested for stealing under $500 and trespassing.

Sunday, July 26

  • A city of Maplewood resident responded to the police department advising that he had found a T-Moble Alcatel cellular phone near the intersection of James at Edgar. Though investigation, the owner of the cellular phone was identified. All attempts to locate that owner were met with negative results.
