The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Saturday, Dec. 21
- Update: Two women are suspected of attempting to steal approximately $1,000 in electronics from a Maplewood Commons business. The women fled the business
before police arrived. Police have since identified the suspects and are attempting to locate them. On Dec. 27 one of the suspects was taken into custody.
- Update: Donetta Harris, 32, of St. Louis was subsequently charged with robbery in the second degree through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with a bond of $50,000. Harris had been confronted by loss prevention officers at the time of the above theft. She pulled a can of pepper spray from her purse and aimed it at one of the loss prevention officers. The loss prevention officer was able to prevent Harris from spraying him. Harris then fled the business.
Monday, Dec. 23
- A 26-year-old man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia resulting from a traffic stop in the area of Martini and Rannells avenues. A 28-year-old male passenger was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance and he was charged for the drug violation.
- A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
- A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing approximately $400 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. He was additionally charged with giving false information to an officer. After learning the real identity of the suspect, it was discovered he had multiple active warrants through other jurisdictions including a probation violation.
- A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing approximately $740 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. Charges are pending through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for felony stealing.
- A 35-year-old woman was charged with disorderly conduct after officers responded to a business located in the 3600 block of Big Bend for an intoxicated person call.
- Police responded to the 7400 block of Maple for a loud music call. Police discovered multiple subjects inside a residence, and the party was dispersed. Approximately an hour and a half later, police were called back to this same residence for a peace disturbance complaint. A 19-year-old man was subsequently issued a summons for disturbing the peace. Two other male subjects were arrested for outstanding warrants.
