The Esquire Theatre, which turns 75 in November, reopens Friday after a complete renovation, including “plush power recliners” with extend footrests in all seven theaters and a full bar with TV.
New sound systems and movie screens have been installed in every theater. The screen in the large, center theater has doubled in size, according to a press release.
AMC media contact, Ryan Noonan said when the theater opens Friday, movie prices will be the same as when it closed. He said the renovation cost “millions.”
Historic details have been retained, such as the stair rails from the main lobby. Photos from the theater’s past line a hallway. It’s also possible to reserve seats online.
Though the number of seats has been reduced due to the larger reclining seats (about a third of the approximately 750 seats in the large theater remain), Noonan said more theater-goers will fill them on a daily basis.
The food menu has also been enhanced, and now includes chicken fingers, pizza and mozzarella sticks.
Make it 18 and over only and I’ll be your biggest fan.
