The interconnection of plants and human existence is monumental. Food, shelter, fuel, medicines, clothing, oxygen, and carbon dioxide, certainly, but have you considered the impact of plants on our daily lives?
Carol Gravens focuses her talk on a subset of the 50 plants that are detailed in Bill Laws’ book, Fifty Plants that Changed the Course of History, particularly plants that the speaker has identified as being of special interest.
Carol Gravens is a St. Louis Advanced Level Master Gardener. Carol gives talks and classes as part of the Master Gardener Speakers’ Bureau. She volunteers in the orchid greenhouses at the Garden and grows orchids in her home. Besides managing her home garden, she is an avid photographer and does trail hiking.
