As part of Shake 38, an annual performance and celebration of William
Shakespeare’s 38 plays, members of Prison Performing Art’s Alumni Theatre
Company will present The Two Gentleman of Verona at The Book House (7352 Manchester Road, Maplewood), April 23 at 7 p.m.
The script is adapted by William Rauch. PPA’s Alumni Theatre Company is made up of former inmates now living the St. Louis area, who worked with Prison Performing Arts while incarcerated.
Prison Performing Arts is a 22-year-old program that involves incarcerated youth and adults in the performing arts to inspire intellectual curiosity and personal development.
Shake 38 has chosen Maplewood for this year’s Shakespeare in the Streets. Maplewood residents will be involved in a Shakespeare-inspired production Sept. 16-18.
