Close to 200 runners took part in the the first annual Ryan Hummert Scholarship Fund 5k Fun Run on Saturday according to Professional Firefighters of Maplewood Facebook.
The start and finish was on Sutton Boulevard, along Ryan Hummert Park.

What a great event. I’m sure this will grow into a much larger event as word gets around the country. Everyone should take time to forward this to everyone in their address book.
I was wondering why a dozen or so firemen started off the race by running in their full outfits – it seems like a very uncomfortable way to run. It was very odd to watch.
