Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church celebrated the Feast of the Archangels, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. Saint Michael was the main focus of (Wednesday’s) liturgy because Michael is the patron saint of police officers and others who keep us safe.
First responders from surrounding areas joined us today at noon Mass. Students from Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic School distributed hand made thank you notes as the responders entered the church. During the Mass Father Jack Siefert, pastor of Saint Mary Magdalen blessed Saint Michael medals and offered a special blessing for all first responders in attendance. There was a large round of applause to thank those who protect and serve us.
After Mass, there was a gathering in the portico for all in attendance. The students handed each police officer, fire fighter, and paramedic/EMT a Saint Michael medal as a reminder that they are protected by their Archangel. It was an honor to have these men and women with us today at Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.
