Don Loomstein, owner of Empire Supply, in Maplewood, and also 7282 Manchester Road, said it took about a day and a half to rent the approximately 450 square foot space after barber, Stan Chenoweth, moved out on New Year’s Eve.
“He was gone by about 3:30 on Thursday, and on Monday after the weekend I had five calls from people who wanted the space,” he said.
Loomstein said a Maplewood resident is opening the Roughneck Beard Company store, offering beard care products: “tools they need to reach their own beard excellence, and the confidence to grow personally, alongside their facial hair,” the website says.

Loomstein said the business owner looked at the space Monday afternoon and went right to city hall for his permits. “Maplewood is hot. That’s what it’s all about,” he said.
Brad is a solid dude, with a product backed by science and a ton of satisfied customers worldwide! A store front will bring his amazing products to the people of Maplewood and the greater Saint Louis area in a way that will allow for hands on sampling of the Roughneck craft. Congrats Roughneck! Well deserved step in your journey. I look forward to your grand opening!
Love it when dudes use fake names to leave insulting comments. Samuel Jackson probably has a sweet beard, but tiny testicles (and, I would assume, hides behind his girl when things get rough). Say it with your real name hoss, be the man that you seem to think that you are. Sorry I’m late, busy using my real name. ???
Way to go my brother! The sky is the limit for u and Roughneck. Best of luck with all you do. I’m proud to be part of the Roughneck family and wear the name on my back. Here is to plenty years of success.
Great products, great person. I am a 4 generation Santa Claus with a real beard. 2014 my beard fell out due to over bleaching. Brad Jackson and his products brought my beard back to life. It was thicker and fuller than ever before. By the end of November my beard was 6″ long and ready to play Santa again. I am a true believer in his products. He stands behind them 100%. Congrats Brad on the new store.
Yours truly,
Santa Claus
First class company, run by a first class guy, coming to a great neighborhood! Whats not to love?
Welcome to the hood! I know it’s a beard care store…are you planning on having a barber onsite? Can’t wait to check it out…starting to grow my beard today.
We may pursue that option eventually! But for now, we’re focusing on beard care products, men’s grooming accessories, and apparel!
Congrats on the new storefront brother!! Been a long time coming. And Maplewood definitely deserves the presence of such an outstanding citizen such as yourself. And company with the values and customer service that it has!!
Congratulations to Roughneck! You know you’re doing something right, when the community turns up and shows this much enthusiastic support.
It speaks volumes about the company. I get your oils through the mail, and admit a certain excitement at the prospect of a retail location.
Congratulations! I wish you the best of luck with your new store.
Brad Jackson is a great guy with a great product! He greatly deserves every success that he gets! Goes to plenty of beard comps around the states runs his own successful club in St. Louis! Plus the guy makes everyone he meets feel like family you can’t get any better then that! Brad and the roughneck family congrats on this and any future success
I have asked for product and have been given product at no cost!!!! so there’s that
🙂
Excited for this to open. Cant wait for more awesome stores to be moving in Maplewood.
Looking forward to being an active part of the community! Come see us when we open!
It’s really good to have friends that are willing to help out! We’re doing it as a team. The neighborhood and the Roughneck family have really come together to make this dream a reality!
Again, thanks for the support!
Let’s hope the owner isn’t on premises too often if they’re wanting to sell his product to people wanting to improve their beards. Brad takes first spot in the ugliest beard on a maker in the entire industry. Congrats.
Thanks for the support! I’ll personally be on premises during all open hours!
Lol
Come on now, do we need to show our jealously in public like this?
My poor, sad genetics do not play into my product knowledge. 🙂
Trolling an article from a news site that gets 25 readers. get a life.
Let’s keep it civil, Samuel. And Bob, this site gets around 2k readers a day, fyi.
I meant 2500. sorry miss spelled. 😀
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Brad’s “ugly mug” is being welcomed, enthusiastically…his products are solid.
Good luck!
Proud to be in the neighborhood!
