Maplewood Planning and Zoning will consider requests for a fried chicken restaurant, and a sandwich shop and at its meeting on July 6; also an amendment that would allow craft beer to be sold in the Community Business District.

One the agenda:

  • The commission will consider a request by Raising Cane’s to open a restaurant at Manchester and Big Bend (2707 S. Big Bend Boulevard), where Schaefer Shell closed in February. The board of adjustment previously approved changes to parking regulations.
  • The city currently will allow no more ‘package liquor stores.’ The commission will consider an amendment that would allow craft beer to be sold in the Community Business District. The Craft Beer Cellar, in Clayton, would like to open a Maplewood store at 7415 Manchester Road, where Maplewood Galleries closed after two years in business.
  • The request for a conditional use permit to allow a catering facility at 2200 Yale Avenue is a change of ownership.
  • The commission will also consider a request to allow a sandwich shop at 2810 Sutton Boulevard.
