Gus’s Fried Chicken: no outdoor dining off-season

Gus’s Fried Chicken owner Jim Zimmermann received some good news recently — news that will mean more space for customers when it warms up.

Zimmermann had picnic tables delivered to the restaurant’s patio last weekend. He had previously understood the tables had to be put away from November 30 to March 1, per the city’s outdoor dining ordinance.

He said City Manager Marty Corcoran told him recently that because the patio is behind a barrier and not on the sidewalk, the tables could stay.

Zimmermann said Tuesday he could use the extra seating.

  1. I picked up chicken last week for my wife, mother, father and myself.
    Mom: 3 wings
    Dad: 1 leg, 1 thigh
    Wife: chicken strips
    Myself: 1 Breast, 2 wings
    1-large mac & cheese
    1 med. slaw
    1 small baked beans
    $55.00
Wow, way too expensive for me

    • I walked up, looked at the prices, and left. Chicken is about the cheapest meat there is, those prices are outrageous.
