The business has already passed planning and zoning and was approved by city council. See also: Gus’s Fried Chicken signs Maplewood lease, Gus’s to offer baked beans, greens, mac-n-cheese, fried pickles, pies, beer

  1. Visited Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken today & honestly it was not all that it has been hyped up to be. I had a problem 1st off, because they need much better orginization. The place is much too small for the amount of business that they do & I really don’t care how good, tasty, or famous ur chicken may be, it is not worth waiting 45 mins or longer!. It is also a tad overpriced. I feel it could have been planned better for the location that it is in.
The sides were average, nothing to rave about. The chicken is alright, but really don’t understand why it’s “World Famous” & all the other hype. I feel in the long run they will lose customers, because of prices & the size of the facility for the amount of business that they do. How can U have the ordering counter basically by the entrance door?? & ur dining area only holds so many. Makes no sense to me. I was in the restaurant Mgt. business for over 15 yrs., so this isn’t just someone talking….

  2. The outdoor area is a little small (if you drive by I assume it is the grassy area now), but I like the access routes from the sidewalk. McDonalds should take note.

  3. Thanks for posting the plans, Doug. I’m excited for this nice addition to our neighborhood. I’m glad to see a lot of outdoor seating!
