A Pizza Story restaurant is nearing completion.

Muhammad Alhawagri and business partner Sherif Nasser started laying the new floor Saturday morning in their hopefully soon-to-be-opened A Pizza Story restaurant (7278 Manchester Road). On Tuesday afternoon they were almost done.

They’ve passed the electrical inspection and the lighting is installed. Alhawagri said they’ve done more than needed to pass the health department inspection, which is still on the horizon.

Alhawagri is still hoping police can recover tools valued at $1650 stolen from the site in mid-February. He said brass rails that were going to be used in the interior were also stolen.

“We’re being more careful now,” he said. “We were naive.”

  1. I’m very excited for this new restaurant to open. With the The Blind Tiger and now A Pizza Story, I think Maplewood will have pizza covered!
