Two new businesses, run by a husband/wife team, are moving into the space on Sutton Boulevard where Studio Forte dance studio moved out in March.
Kerry Schuette (pronounced ‘shoe-tea’) is “Springboard Studio,” a commercial interior design company. She designs spaces for residential, hospitality, offices, financial facilities, retail and healthcare clients. She and four others will work in the office on the 2911 Sutton side.
Scott Schuette is “The Knowledge Cafe” and will be on the 2907 Sutton side. He teaches a three-dimensional architectural software called Revit, by Autodesk. He trains architects, engineers, interior designers, facility managers how to use the modeling program.
People come from as far as Arkansas and Springfield, MO, to train. Scott said it’s the only place in St. Louis for in-person training. He said he trains just about anyone in the construction industry, including metal roof installers, interior designers, furniture dealers and mechanical/structural engineers.
He also does consulting work — computer modeling and perspective drawings of spaces for architects, designers and engineers. He said they ‘constructed’ every item in a Panera, including the chairs, tables, toilet rolls holders — everything, about 2,700 items — so architects can use the electronic pieces to design all the restaurants across the country.
They’re moving from an office in Webster Groves they said is a quarter of the size of their new space on Sutton.
Welcome to Maplewood – Always good to have new business!
I’ve worked with a number of Architects over the years, if you ever need any help with anything IT related, don’t hesitate to call us (I own CAT Computers in Maplewood), and also occasionally blog for 40 South News.
Thank you, Robert! We’ll definitely keep you in mind for IT. It’s so very nice to be welcomed to our new home!
Welcome to Maplewood!
Thank you, Maggie!
Hopefully, for their sake, they will have better luck with the property owner. From what I understand, he is a nightmare to deal with. Studio Forte was basically forced out before he even had another tenant lined up. In the middle if their dance year. No recital. No finished classes. Lindi is a class act who is wonderful with the children and goes out of her way to have a nice, low pressure performance for countless little girls and boys. Way to disappoint close to two hundred children. Hope the missed rent payments were worth it to him.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. Thanks!
Very well said. It seems most landlords only care about getting there monthly rent money.
