The Maplewood shop, Jones Typewriter, has closed its doors, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported on Friday.
The Post-Dispatch reports that after six decades in business, owner Vern Trampe, 81, decided in October last year it was time close close — he said rent and insurance costs were increasing at 3530 Greenwood Boulevard.
Jones Typewriter moved from 7278 Manchester Road to Greenwood Boulevard in 2013. When Jones Typewriter moved from Manchester Road, A Pizza Story opened there. The restaurant Tapped, at that location, opened in 2017.
