Man hides knife, arrested for heroin possession: police

Brentwood police were called to 8340 Eager Road (Sports Authority) on June 12 when employees saw a man hide a knife in his pocket and enter a changing room.

According to police and court records, the employees reported that the man had hidden a knife in his pocket and entered the changing room. A Brentwood officer found the suspect, and a search revealed two knives and other merchandise belonging to the store.

Police searched the suspect’s vehicle and found a plastic bag with capsules containing a white, powdery substance, which lab analysis confirmed to be heroin.

Both searches were consensual, according to the report. The defendant, Christopher Mandina, 41, of Madison, IL, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony, and held on $7,500 bond.
