The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, April 14

  • Police responded to the 7800 block of Scody Drive for a reported disturbance. Police contacted a man and woman who said they had been arguing. No arrests were made or charges filed.
  • Police arrested a 34-year-old man for operating  motor vehicle without a valid state operator’s license and no insurance in the area of S. Hanley Road and West Bruno Avenue. The driver was also charged with giving false information to an officer for lying about his name at the time of police contact.
  • Police arrested a 21-year-old man in the 7100 block of Manchester for a drug violation.
  • An unknown man was reported leaving a Maplewood Commons store with approximately $700 in stolen merchandise. Police are investigating.
  • Police arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • Police arrested a 52-year-old man for disorderly conduct for causing a disturbance in the 7600 block of Manchester Road.

Tuesday, April 15

  • Police arrested a 29-year-old man for trespassing and failure to comply in the 2400 block of Laclede Station. Police were called to the location because the man was found sleeping in the laundry room on the premises.  The man was issued a warning at that time not to return to the property. Several hours later police responded back to the 2400 block of Laclede Station for the same subject returning to the property.  Subsequently, he was taken into custody.
  • An officer stopped a vehicle in the 7900 block of West Bruno Avenue for a traffic violation. The officer then made contact with the driver to obtain his information. Upon the officer returning to his vehicle to conduct an inquiry on the driver, the male driver exited his vehicle and ran. Officers searched the area but could not locate the driver. Police have identified the driver and are attempting to locate him.
  • Police are investigating a property damage report which occurred between 10 p.m. on April 14 and 5:50 a.m. on April 15 in the 2600 block of Margarette Avenue. A vehicle was vandalized in the area by pouring syrup and Vaseline on the exterior of the vehicle, which left several scratches.
