A new source of funds is now available to Maplewood community members and organizations. The Maplewood Community Fund exists to support neighbors and organizations desiring to stay in the neighborhood and ensure they have the resources necessary to do so. The Fund is presently seeking grant applicants in need of financial support during a time when affordability is a growing struggle for many. Last year, MCF was excited to distribute $10,000 to individuals and organizations requesting funds. This year, the Fund will have at least $15,000 available to invest back into our community. The application prioritizes individuals with connections to Maplewood and organizations who serve our community. Applications are due September 30th and can be accessed here.
These funding opportunities would not be possible without the generosity of neighbors supporting MCF. Funds are collected by one time and sustaining donations, as well as fundraising events throughout the year. Taste of Maplewood attendees may be familiar with the popular MCF dunk tank and residents and local businesses have generously donated to support multiple raffles. More information on how to support the Fund can be found here. Every dollar donated between now and November 15th will be distributed in this grant cycle.
The Fund’s upcoming Mapleweird Community 5K and Fun Run on Saturday October 25th will be the next major fundraiser. This event is still in search of runners, volunteers, and sponsors. More information on how to register for and/or support the event can be found here.
If you or someone you know may benefit from up to $1,000 in grant money, please consider applying by September 30 and/or sharing this opportunity in your networks.
