Or All of Maplewood’s Ghosts at One Convenient Location.

These posts I have run before but many of the newer members of our community have never seen them. We have some really great ghosts.  Surely there are more out there.  If you know of a Maplewood ghost that I am unaware of by all means, let me know.

Meanwhile, click on the following link to read about all of the Maplewood ghosts that I know of.

Maplewood Ghosts

With this article, I’m featuring an image of the Maplewood pioneer, James Sutton.  It was kindly provided to me by a descendant of his, Ms. Laura Varilek.  I mean no disrespect Laura.  Far from it, this is a very cool, very early image of Mr. Sutton.

If you’ve read the stories, you’ll know that an apparition, possibly connected to James has been reported.  So while you trick-or-treaters are out wandering the darkened streets, if in the shadows you might barely discern a figure, all in black with a top hat … give me a call, will ya?

Happy Halloween

  1. Doug, our area is replete with the preternatural. Several neighbors, who are not prone to an X File mentality, have reported ghosts and apparitions in or around their homes. Two had the ghosts of prior residents who had committed suicide. Another in one of our oldest homes had a 3rd floor ghost who walked about in a black floor length dress [Victorian era?], then of course the specter over the railroad viaduct. So kids look closely, those in ghostly costumes may just be the real thing.
