A Maplewood man who shops at the Maplewood Shop ‘n Save was the grand prize winner of the store’s ‘Price is Right’ sweepstakes, which ran from July 9 to Sept. 16.
Chris Diebold won the $100,000 prize in the ‘second chance drawing’. Shop ‘n Save received more than 14,000 entries at 42 area stores.
Diebold said he got a call about a month ago and at first didn’t believe it when he was told he had won $100,000.
“It’s real. It is real,” he said Friday at the Maplewood Shop ‘n Save.

“I wish I could say we’re going to do something crazy,” he said. His father-in-law suggested they go to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse for dinner.
“We’ll pay bills and student loans. We got three kids. Maybe a little college fund, that’s pretty much it…maybe some new shoes, too.”
Did they happen to mention who the employee winner was? No has announced that winner? was there one?

This is the closest I have come to winning a contest since I won a cake walk in 7th grade, 1968 : living in the city NEXT to the city where the guy actually won!! Best Wishes Chris and Tricia!
