Maplewood police: 9 shoplifting arrests in 3 days, other thefts

Tuesday, Dec. 17

  • A leaving the scene of an accident occurred in the 2600 block of S. Hanley Road. The reporting party said while stopped in traffic,
    his vehicle was struck from behind by another vehicle, which subsequently left the scene and was last seen traveling north on Hanley. The striking vehicle was described as a gray.
  • A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Wednesday, Dec. 18

  • Police are investigating a reported violation of an order of protection in the 2000 block of Yale. The reporting party’s ex-boyfriend was allegedly on the premises which violated the order.
  • A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting alcohol from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing approximately $100 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A 51-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting approximately $105 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing approximately $107 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Thursday, Dec. 19

  • Police are investigating a theft which occurred at a Maplewood Commons business. The victim had reported her Apple iPhone stolen which also contained her driver’s license and credit card in the case protecting the phone. The cell phone was soon recovered on an individual inside the business. The suspect responsible was identified, however left the business prior to police arrival. Police are attempting to locate the suspect.
  • A 25-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting $274 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. She was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia at the time of her arrest.
  • A purse was reportedly stolen from a business located in the 3200 block of Laclede Station.
  • A 29-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from a Maplewood Commons business. The female suspect was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia at the time of her arrest.
  • A 34-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of stealing approximately $400 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
  • A-43-year-old man was issued a summons for disturbing the peace in the 2800 block of Laclede Station Road.
