Maplewood Police reported incidents for the week of Aug. 4-10. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, August 4

  • A resident in the 7200 block of Rule reported money had been stolen. The investigation led police to a 23 year old female who had recently cleaned the home. The suspect admitted to the theft and was charged with stealing.

Tuesday, August 5

  • A resident living in the 7200 block of Anna called police and reported a burglary. The resident said he stepped out of his home for a few minutes and when he returned, he noticed $200 was missing from his living room table.
  • Police responded to the 7200 block of Anna for a reported disturbance between two family members.  The two male parties involved in the disturbance told officers they had a verbal dispute. No arrests were made or charges filed.

Wednesday, August 6

  • A credit card was stolen from a business in the 7300 block of Manchester.  The victim’s credit card was then fraudulently used at several businesses outside Maplewood.  Police are reviewing surveillance videos in an attempt to identify the suspect(s).
  • Police arrested a  29 year old female  for stealing approximately  $115 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Thursday, August 7

  • Police arrested a 38 year old female for shoplifting merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.

Friday, August 8

  • Two juveniles were taken into custody for damaging city property at Ryan Hummert Park.  The juveniles allegedly tore limbs from trees and broke a picnic table.  The matter has been forwarded to the St. Louis County Family Courts.

Sunday, August 10

  • Police arrested a 21 year old male and a 18 year old male for a drug violation in the 7400 block of Canterbury.
