Maplewood’s economic resurgence will be featured on KETC, Channel 9, at 9 p.m. Thursday on the “Stay Tuned” show.
UMSL professor Todd Swanstrom has been researching “rebounding communities” in the St. Louis area, and identified Maplewood as one of four St. Louis area neighborhoods that has seen a comeback.
Swanstrom is the E. Desmond Lee Endowed Professor of Community Collaboration and Public Policy Administration at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
The KETC crew interviewed business owners Steve Jawor at Great Harvest Bread Company and Eric Bess Flying Tiger Motorcycles about their experiences in Maplewood.
Maplewood commercial building-owner Rob Birenbaum was also interviewed.
