On Saturday, September 19 Maplewood will celebrate for two reasons: Zwanze Day and Maplewood’s Green Power Challenge winner recognition. The celebrations will take place at Sutton Loop Park, and at Side Project Cellar and on Marietta Avenue outside Side Project Cellar.

Side Project Cellar (7373 Marietta Avenue) was recognized as one of 26 locations (small breweries) in the United States to celebrate Zwanze Day — it’s a big honor. See: Maplewood bar chosen for worldwide beer celebration

Also, Maplewood took the EPA Green Power Challenge, and enough businesses and residents signed up, to match three percent of the city’s total energy consumption with green energy.

There will be a special section on sustainability in Sutton Park and a special ceremony at noon.

Admission and parking are free (on street or in the Marietta lot). Food, drink and wares will be for sale. Spin the Bottle will play from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. See details at the Maplewood city website.

Marietta Avenue will be closed between the first driveway to the east of Side Project Cellar and Sutton Boulevard from 11 a.m. to about 6 p.m. Marietta Avenue will be open at Marshall Avenue to access the Marietta parking lot.
