Maplewood police filed a report to the county circuit court stating a victim reported her Target credit card had been used to make numerous unauthorized purchases.

Amanda Snider, 27, was charged with the fraudulent use of a credit device (value of $500 or more), a Class D felony, in the suspected theft.

According to Maplewood Police, the card was used to buy Target goods online totaling $1,1511. Some were shipped to the defendant’s address in the 2200 block of Yale Avenue — fellow resident of same building as the victim. Others were shipped to other apartments in the building.

The email address used for the purchases contained the defendant’s last name, and a Maplewood zip code was registered to the relevant email account.

An employee of the Maplewood post office identified the defendant from a photo lineup as the woman who had presented herself at the post office and picked up one of the packages, which was addressed to the victim. The defendant had said she was picking up the package for her “cousin.”

The defendant was subsequently arrested and denied making any of the fraudulent purchases, although she did admit picking up one of the packages. She claimed she had received the package slip in her mailbox.

After picking up the package, defendant said, she left it outside victim’s door. She said she was unfamiliar with the email address used for the purchases.
