Brittany Vales, 24, of Maplewood, was killed in a car crash Friday after a driver traveling the wrong way on a north St. Louis street hit the car she was in, before fleeing, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Tuesday.
Vales, of the 2200 block of Yale Avenue, was one of three passengers in a Chevrolet Sonic that was struck about 5:50 p.m. by a Jeep Cherokee traveling the wrong way on North Broadway near Bellefontaine Cemetery.
Vales was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene, police told the Post-Dispatch.
After the collision the Jeep spun and hit another car. Police told the Post-Dispatch both the male driver and passenger of the Jeep got out after the collisions and into a black Chevrolet Impala, which drove off. Police said both are still at large.
