Representatives of the area developer, Show Me Hospitality, met with residents of Hazel Avenue Wednesday at Maplewood United Methodist to introduce the store and answer questions. Hazel borders the proposed Tim Hortons on the south.

40 South News wasn’t invited to that meeting, but met with Show Me Hospitality president, Eric Sigurdson and VP of marketing, Tina Bryan before the meeting.

Bryan described the restaurant as quick casual. Customers will order in the dining room and meals will be served on China. Sigurdson said Tim Hortons is known for coffee and doughnuts in Canada, where it originated, but will have a menu similar to St. Louis Bread Co., in St. Louis.

Maplewood planning and zoning will consider the shop on Monday. It is expected to be on the city council agenda Oct. 14 and 28.

More about Maplewood’s proposed Tim Hortons:

  • 50 employees, 12 per shift
  • Seating: 30 inside, 12 on patio
  • WiFi and TVs
  • Open 24 hours (proposed)
  • The city has requested that more brick be used on the exterior
  • Double drive-through, average time to process order is 75 seconds
  • Entrances will be off Big Bend, and another next to CVS for access to Manchester Road

  1. Everyone keeps saying how great Tim Hortons is.
Of course they are great. Why wouldn’t they be nice if they stand to make a lot of $$$.
This is all about money. Do we really need another drive thru on that already congested corner. Every time we bring in another franchise from outside of the community…the Maplewood we know and love, dies a little.

  2. I am one of the residents who attended. Eric and Tina were great. They were entheusiastic about the plans for this Tim Hortons and were interested in collaborating with us as neighbors.
