The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Monday, Feb. 9
- Police arrested a 20-year-old man for stealing approximately $120 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
- Police arrested a 45-year-old man for assaulting another male in the 7400 block of Manchester. The two men knew each other.
Tuesday, Feb. 10
- A restaurant reported that used cooking oil was stolen from a grease trap container located behind the business. Someone pried open the grease container causing approximately $200 in damage.
- Police responded to the 2200 block of Alameda for a domestic assault report. A woman reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend who left before police arrived. Police located and arrested the 33-year-old male on Feb. 14.
Wednesday, Feb. 11
- Police arrested a 30-year-old man for stealing approximately $200 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
Thursday, Feb. 12
- Police arrested a 29-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman for shoplifting approximately $115 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. The male suspect was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance.
- Police arrested a 26-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man for stealing approximately $100 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. The male suspect was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance.
- Police arrested a 62-year-old man and 49-year-old woman on trespassing charges in the 7200 block of Anna.
- Police arrested a 34-year-old man for stealing approximately $875 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
Saturday, Feb. 14
- Police responded to the 7200 block of Zephyr for a reported shots fired call. Police conducted an investigation and arrested a 26-year-old man for discharging a firearm outside a residence in the 7200 block of Zephyr. The male suspect was also charged for drug violation and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Police arrested a 56-year-old man for stealing approximately $115 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business.
- Police are investigating the theft of approximately $500 in merchandise stolen from a business in the 3200 block of Laclede Station Road that occurred on Feb. 14.
- Police arrested a 37-year-old man for stealing approximately $350 in merchandise from a Maplewood Commons business. Due to the suspect’s prior theft history, police are seeking felony charges.
- A vehicle was broken into between 12 p.m. on Feb. 14 and 2:15 a.m. Feb. 15 in the 2500 block of S. Big Bend. Someone stole the victim’s car stereo.
During the past week police have taken several reports regarding identity theft by means of tax fraud. To date, there have been seven reports of tax fraud filed within this jurisdiction.
UPDATE: Relative to the shooting in the 7200 block of Sarah on 11-1-14, police have arrested an 18-year-old man and 23-year-old man on assault and weapon charges relative to this investigation. Police have also identified three other males involved in this incident and are attempting to locate them at this time. Charges are pending.
