Victims, witnesses not cooperating with police in triple shooting

Maplewood Police say they’re getting no cooperation from witnesses or victims in the shooting of three men in the 7200 block of Sarah Avenue Saturday night.

Maplewood Detective Sergeant Matt Nighbor said the shooting took place at a small gathering an apartment in the 7200 block of Sarah Avenue. Many of the people at the party were not from the Maplewood area, including the victims.

Nighbor said all of the victims were shot in the lower extremities, and at least one was shot multiple times. None of the injuries were life threatening.

Nighbor said a Maplewood officer chased an SUV leaving the apartment he believed to be involved in the shooting. The SUV was occupied by more than one black males; police doesn’t know how many.

The officer chased the vehicle for a couple miles, but lost sight of it when it went down an alley. The SUV was reported stolen out of another agency.

Police don’t know how many shooters were involved, because as of Tuesday afternoon none of the witnesses or victims are cooperating with police.
