MRH’s homecoming celebration Friday night revolved around volleyball, a pep rally featuring the MRH Blue Devil Jazz Band and a soccer game. The homecoming king and queens for each class and MRH Youth sports paraded on the track at halftime.
The stands were full, and Scott Lunte, who announced football games his years at MRH, announced for the halftime celebration. He said this was the best homecoming celebration he had seen in all his years at MRH. Lunte now has an internship at KSDK News.
MRH School Board President Nelson Mitten agreed with Lunte, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
“I actually think it’s fantastic,” Mitten told the Post-Dispatch. “I think the students have really embraced the concept of soccer becoming the focus of homecoming.”
MRH soccer defeated Lift for Life 8-0 to improve to a 17-3 record on the season. Volleyball beat North Tech in three sets. They’re at 16-8 on the season.
