The Maplewood Richmond Heights School District is holding a informational meeting for Proposition K Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the MRH Early Childhood Center gymnasium (2801 Oakland Avenue, Maplewood).
If passed, Proposition K would provide more space by creating a new preschool center, moving kindergarten to the current preschool space, and bringing the second grade class back to the Early Childhood Center.
Information on the location of the proposed new preschool will be shared, the school district states.
A panel of MRH administrators, teachers, and board members will be available to answer questions about the growing enrollment and the plan to alleviate crowding.
The bond issue on the April 7 ballot includes $6.1 million for projects that will provide $1.75 million for land acquisition, site development and other related costs, and $4.35 million for construction of a new eight homeroom preschool, and renovation of the existing preschool into a kindergarten center, according to the school district.
